Every year or so around this time it seems I write a post on Gratitude. So this year as you see is no different. π Being grateful for all of the things that I have…all of the blessings and beauty that surrounds me, is where I always strive to be. π
I forget exactly when or how it started…but John and I share gratitude’s almost every night as we sit down together for dinner. Before we begin to eat, we go back and forth sharing all of the moments that filled us with gratitude on that day. It’s such an important and wonderful ritual now for us. I honestly miss it when we’re away from home or with others and we don’t share what has been so wonderful in our day. It often feels like something is missing. π
I really love this poem I found on Gratitude. It was written by a BU Alum named Rebecca Sparks.
FOR THE SUN
I think I need to tend the garden,
oh, can I call it mine?
I offer care, water, earth
the rest is Sun and time
A life to live is no small thing,
though small things are treasures, too
to wonder, breathe, and hold, and sing.
to wake up facing you
So what am I grateful for?!? So many things!!! Here are just a few:
a partner who loves me fully, freely, and unconditionally
a huge stack of seasoned firewood that keeps us warm and smiling on those cold days and nights
our beautiful, kind, and loving friends
feeling loved, supported, and respected where I work
loving what I do and feeling good about it almost every day
being able to give to organizations that give me so much
living in a region (town) that aligns with my morals and values
So what about YOU?? What are YOU grateful for?? I would love it if you’d share some of your gratitude’s here with me!! I so love hearing what others are grateful for in their lives!! π
Happy, Healthy, & Yummy Thanksgiving!!!!
Joy & Love,
Goddess Mandy π XO
Good ideal.
Gratitude is a wonderful sensation and beautiful space to be in. Our culture of always wanting more, bigger, nicer, newer can easily cause us to forget the concept of “Enough”.
my many miles of living out of my backpack has helped me delineate between needs and wants. Income to provide necessary food, shelter, and transportation meets my physical needs, and I try to be present in being grateful for not having to worry about my basic physical needs.
Yet I would be remiss to not mention the Gratitude I have for those who support my emotional needs of feeling loved and appreciated with little notes letting me know they thought of me and smiled, and the ripples it causes in my heart chakra.
Thank You Goddess Mandy for the past 10 years of being on my daily list of GRATITUDES.
Thanks, fuckhead! So what are you grateful for in your life??
Ohhhh my gosh kneel…what you wrote is just so incredibly beautiful!!! It IS such a “beautiful space to be in”. I could not agree with that more. And understanding the difference between needs and wants I think can really help us be more in touch with all we might really have to be grateful for. YOU are always so grateful for My time, My energy, My support, and My care. Thank you for always letting Me know! And I am grateful for being on that daily list of yours, kneel! xo π
sorry lovely Mandy. i donβt think in those terms. i am very basic. i do not have feelings.
it would be great for rain, being stung on my face by hornets. or world peace.
And we ALL have feelings, fuckhead. π Ouch…why would you want to be stung by hornets?!? But world peace would certainly be wonderful!!!!
My mental, spiritual and physically health.Health is wealth.

Having overcome obstacles in my life .When life gives one lemons make lemonade.

Continual growing as a person.
Being kind.
Accepting myself for who I am.
Friends and family.
Good shelter,good food,good insurance.
The list is endless. Each day in life is a gift.
OMG Gigi…this is just so BEAUTIFUL! And I agree…the list IS endless and each day in life is very much a gift! And I think of my health in the very same way that you do. π I am grateful that you both stopped by AND that you were moved to share all of these beautiful gratitude’s, thank you!!!! π
I am grateful for simple pleasures in life – a walk,a cup of coffee, a good song, taking on the phone, listening to the rain fall, observing the fall colors, reading, etc.
LDW ranks right up there.
More things that you are grateful for…simple pleasures. I love those simple pleasures that often cost us little or nothing but give us SO much! π I’m also really glad that LDW ranks on your list of gratitude’s!
