I am not a religious person, but I am very spiritual.  So, there are times when I might shy away from any talk of God.   Yet Marianne’s message is just SO incredibly powerful.  It’s easy to see past the words on the page to understand the deeper meaning of her message.

“No one can ever be more by your being less.”
  Paula Renaye

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that
other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.”

– from A Return to Love,
by Marianne Williamson

I agree!  Who does it help, being less, playing small?

Why would we not want to set an amazing example for those around us?

To share with others how happy we are, how grateful we are for the amazing things and special people in our lives?

To illuminate how successful we can be when we put our mind to the things that matter most to us, and RISK and TRY?

To show those around us how much compassion and kindness we have in our heart?

To help others understand just how much we (all) truly have to give to the world?
