So here is what I am wondering about…
Do you know that for me it’s ALL about the relationship?!? I bet that many of you would say…”Yes Goddess (Mandy) of course I know that about you!” Well…for those of you that don’t really know or understand that about me…I will tell you that it ALWAYS is and ALWAYS will be all about the relationship for me! Without deeply listening…without deeply communicating…without deeply caring…without building deep respect…deep honesty…and deep trust…what do we really have?!? Something for sure, perhaps. But in my opinion, it’s not the something nor the relationship that is nearly as meaningful as I would like!
So…on that note…something that I truly enjoy and am often a bit riveted by are certain select reality shows! π I am absolutely NOT a fan of much of reality TV. However, when it comes to shows about relationships…about communication, finding your partner, finding your soulmate, finding love…..I am more often than not, completely drawn in!!! The more REAL that I feel things are…the more deeply I am drawn to it.
I am rooting for him or her or them! I am wanting to see them fight for themselves and for each other! I love being able to sometimes see and hear their truth, their honesty, their vulnerability! It’s not always easy to be honest and/or vulnerable…and it can’t be any easier knowing that thousands and maybe millions of eyes are on you! I understand that they are getting paid, but still!
So, as some of you know, I really enjoy The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.Β I have also been thoroughly enjoying Love On The Spectrum (US & Australia). And my latest and greatest discovery this summer is called, The Ultimatum: Queer Love. This show is definitely ALL about the relationship! One person in the couple gives the other an ultimatum. In essence…’marry me or it’s over’.
So what about you? Do you enjoy any reality TV? Do you enjoy this type of reality TV? Do you enjoy seeing the ins and outs of relationships portrayed in front of you on the small screen? I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this! Maybe we could chat and discuss how your interests overlap and intersect with my interests?!?
Joy & Love,
Goddess Mandy π XO

Hi Mandy, Reality TV does not sustain my interest. It is just not reality for me. However, your post is probably less about reality TV and more about the criticality of the relationship for romantic interaction. On that point, we likely agree.
The depth of the relationship drives the quality of the interaction. It really starts with trust. If we trust, we feel free to express vulnerability and take informed and consensual risks. This applies to many things, not only romance. Trusting enough to do a business deal, to be coached, to be challenged – just essential and just delicious.
Regards, Yaz (can you guess who this is?!?)
I sure can…Hi T!!! π But I do LOVE that you made it Yaz…that is beautiful!! And I couldn’t agree more…the depth of the relationship DOES indeed drive the quality of the interaction. Thank you for reading AND sharing your wisdom here. π Trust really is the key (as you said) in each and every relationship that we have…”essential and just delicious”…YES!!! π
Gratitude for Your sharing such an insightful post, Goddess. I confess to being one of the many that truly appreciates the depth of connection You offer. As we near our 13 year anniversary, i am blessed by the depth of Your care. You are the best listener i know and always make me feel heard and appreciated for my candor. When Mistress Delia introduced us all those years ago, i was looking for a kinky sex partner. Yet, for whatever reason, You sought to get to know me in ways beyond my wildest expectations,or even dreams. You offered a safe space to share not only my continuum of kink, but my joys and fears of my daily struggle. I am blessed to authenticate Your statements above regarding communication leading to those nebulous concepts of caring, respect, honesty, and yes, TRUST. I know what You gift me with is truly rare and wonderful. Besides, MYSTICAL experiences at so many vistas along the naughty journey we have shared, You have become my BEST FRIEND in all the other aspects of my life.
I understand not everyone You connect with is needing the depth of relationship You offer, but, i know there are others out there like me who are so grateful for the beautiful nurturing woman You are. And for those just curious like i was when we met, spending time with You can fill many more needs than just a physical relief. Thanks for being You, and loving me so well.
You already know my thoughts on Reality TV programs. I have no experiences in my years on this earth that i can use to relate to their reality. I have enough drama between my ears that i choose the serenity of the channel guide and remote.
Darn! Impossible to fool you. From time to time, I did enjoy American Idol. Particularly when the judges and crowd were surprisingly impressed. That show has some relationship aspects to it. Perhaps we see some of ourselves in a particular contestant. Someone we would like to be. Challenging themselves, practicing diligently, overcoming doubts and naysayers – we admire their tenacity. Be memorable for the right reasons and for those around you. Regards, Yaz
OMG kneel…this is just so breathtakingly beautiful!!!! Thank you for sharing ALL of this (your) truth with Me! I can’t say enough just how much I LOVE your appreciation of my care, my listening, my nurturing ways, and on the whole…the depth of connection that we’ve built together and now share! It’s SO nice to be appreciated for who and what we are…THANK YOU for that!!! π
I absolutely agree…it does for sure have some relationship aspects to it AND American Idol has always been one of the shows that I have enjoyed over the years, a lot! π I LOVE seeing people challenge themselves and equally LOVE seeing them overcome their obstacles and whatever voices are getting in their way of being all that they can…all that THEY want to be! π
