God I just LOVE this quote, and I was a tad surprised (I must admit) when I found out who said it. I thought it might be some philosopher or some author or some psychologist but no, a a well known actor whom I perhaps had some incorrect preconceived notions about.
But more importantly perhaps than who said it was who shared it with me… one of my very most favorite people in the whole wide world. He saw it the other day and thought of me. That made me feel great! 🙂
So why did this quote make me feel so great?!? Was it the profound sentiment of the words themselves? Was it the cognitive dissonance of the quote and it’s author? Was it the loving and thoughtful sharing of a friend? These are all valid and wonderful reasons to embrace these words.
What does this mean to you? Share your thoughts…is it the quote? the sharing? the author? What speaks to you the most?!? I want to hear from YOU! I want YOU to share! I think by sharing we help each other emotionally, socially intellectually, spiritually and perhaps even sexually.

I think staying away from the headlines sometimes can be a VERY good thing…good point, petey. And I could not agree more with doing what makes you happy! It makes me think of us all marching or dancing to the beat of our own drum! 🙂
I do love this quote and I think it is reflected in all our conversations. Our culture — and certainly the media — puts a tremendous amount of pressure on people (especially, I think women) about what it is to be sexy. And it makes people spend all kinds of money and effort on creating an artificial, and superficial, version of themselves.
It’s weird that this quote is coming from Ashton Kutcher, since he kind of represents our superficial media. But he’s a person too and I’m glad to hear him say that.

But, I do agree. There IS a great deal of pressure that people often feel to be a certain way, look a certain way, live a particular type of lifestyle, etc! And I think it’s part and parcel of why I like YOU so much, Princess…I know just how real you are!! 🙂
We all like to think that we can go deeper than looks….but in my experience most people cant. However. I would love a partner who cared about me and got me on an intellectual and kinky level. Would I want a bikini model who i couldnt connect with or someone a few pounds overweight and a little less physically attractive, that totally got me and was into what i was into? Hell yes, fuck off bikini model and hello love of my life!
Hi Lovegood- thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts on my post! Well, for me it really is so much about the person. Have I dated men that many women would not take a 2nd look at, yes! But, they were incredible relationships and so good for me. And this is all that really matters, in my book. But, chemistry and physical attraction is indeed essential. If we don’t feel this then indeed there is a loss.
